1. Increased durability

Hot dip galvanizing creates a strong, reliable finish by itself. However, the galvanized steel can be even more robust if there is an extra layer protecting it. The powder coating layer in our duplex coating combination provides an additional barrier, slowing down the erosion rate and enhancing the coating’s lifespan.

2. Environmentally friendly

Duplex coatings combining hot dip galvanizing and powder coating are kind to the environment. Joseph Ash Group’s plants are self-contained, with steel going in at one end and the final product coming out at the other end. Waste products emitted from the process are collected and reused, minimising the impact on the environment.

The galvanizing process never uses more zinc than the steelwork needs to coat it thanks to the metal’s non-ferrous properties. This further reduces the environmental impact and means we only ever use the minimum amount of zinc.

Thanks to the increased durability of duplex coatings, the metal doesn’t need taking in to be coated as often. This reduces the cost of the coating, making it a suitable choice if you’re looking to save some money in the long term.
